Robert Earl Buxton Sr.
Robert Earl Buxton Sr., 80, of Laurel passed away Monday, Nov. 27, 2023 at his residence in Laurel. He was born Sunday, Aug. 22, 1943 in Waynesboro.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 30, from 5-7 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. The funeral service will be Friday, Dec. 1, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in Lott Cemetery in Ellisville. Rev. Shaun Hinton will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Buxton was preceded in death by his father Bodie S. Buxton Sr.; mother Ora B. Carpenter Buxton; sister Barbara Faye Buxton; and brother Bodie Buxton Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years Nancy Keith Buxton; daughter Deborah Buxton Hanson; son Robert “Reb” Buxton Jr.; sister Patricia Buxton; sister-in-law Jodie Buxton; brothers-in-law David Keith (Terry), Jim Keith (Charlene) and Phil Wells (Judy); nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Davy Keith, Phil Wells, Gathian Wells, Drew Wells, Chuck Brewer and Matt Dunston.
